Preparing for the Z to A to Z Blog Challenge. I've written post until F so far. I hope I don't overtake myself!

I wanted to do that challenge so bad but I just won't have the time:( Right now I'm giving away an Easter Basket full of YA books to celebrate 300 followers so stop by my blog:):):)

I'm blogging today! I won't have time to participate in the A to Z but I'm sure I'll be reading the posts. :) Have a great week, L!

I have nearly all my A to Z posts written (one's a review of a book that hasn't been released yet, so I sort of have to wait for that one.)

I'm also pondering at least casual participation in Robert Brewer's Platform Building Challenge in April.

What's that other thing I do? Oh, right. Writing.

Well, I guess I'm preparing to be pretty much the only person NOT doing A To Z. I just don't see how to fit an A To Z theme in around all the other stuff that was already scheduled for this month. Maybe next year :)

I'm working on my A to Z Challenge posts today, tomorrow and finishing them up on Saturday. Keeping them short, sweet and to the point. Have a great day!

I have been away from my computer for a while b/c my dad is very ill in ICU. I am so glad I listened to all of the suggestions early on and prepared many of my post in advance. I hoped to have them all completed before April 1st, but will settle for half.

Laura, one of the things I wanted to do in preparation of the challenge was to switch my comment section from DISQUS back to blogger. I know I have driven you crazy with questions about DISQUS, but can you handle one more? Even though I really love it, I am switching back because people who leave me comments and are not associated with DISQUS seldom fill out the form with their website and email. This makes it impossible for me to click on their name, photo or blog name & link directly to their blog. I have to look for them in my GFC or hope to see their name in the comment section of another persons blog. I figured I could make commenting on other blogs easier during the challenge if I just switch back to blogger.

Do you know what will happen to all of my earlier comments when I merge DISQUS with blogger and return to blogger comments? Thank you . I always appreciate your help.

LOL! I can't wait to read!

I recycled a couple of posts. Is that cheating?

Laura Barnes said...

Why do today what you can leave for tomorrow? :)

Laura Barnes said...

Um, let's not even talk to Alex right now (show off! :)

Knowing your limitations is an admirable trait. I'm not sure that I know mine... We'll miss you on the tour, but I'm coming over to win those books right now!

Laura Barnes said...

You're probably going to have a whole book done in the time we spend doing A to Z. Good for you :)

Laura Barnes said...

You're ambitious! Good luck with it all!

Laura Barnes said...

No, two other people in this comment thread are sitting out as well. So you can have your own blogfest of people not doing A to Z. We're probably annoying, aren't we? Sorry :)

Laura Barnes said...

I need to work on short. Sigh.

Melissa, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad! I'm sending you prayers.
Now for your question - I don't know what will happen, honestly. I believe that they will be lost. Disqus may store them so that if you turn it back on later, they will be there, but I'm not sure.

I would say 50/50 off commenters on my blog leave their info. Guess what. I don't worry about it. If they want to have further contact with me, they'll leave their stuff, if not, they won't. Personally, I don't always want to be followed up with so I wouldn't always leave my info either. I get that you want to return the favor and visit their blogs. I felt that way at first, too. But I also believe in just general karma in the blogging world. I make sure I comment on other people's blogs - it might not be the people who left comments on mine, but I believe it's all good.

If you feel strongly about returning the favor, though, then maybe Disqus isn't for you. I love being able to respond from my own email - that's crucial for me. You have to prioritize. Is that helpful at all?

You could never be annoying :) I'm looking forward to your A To Z theme :)

Me, I'm winging it. (AKA I haven't written anything and I don't have a theme :-))

Laura Barnes said...

I think that's awesome. I'm a little jealous. I think it would be fun to go with whatever strikes your fancy that day. Can't wait to read!

Regarding your email comment, Laura, if I'm understanding you, right, Blogger has that same feature. You can have all your comments shipped straight to your email address and answer them there. It's what I do. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding!

Laura Barnes said...

You are understanding me correctly - Blogger ships notifications of comments, but if you reply to the email, will it post to your blog? Is this a new feature? (getting excited :)
